Frequently asked questions
Are the Eco Fold Down Clothesline Australian Owned?
Yes, Eco Fold Down Clotheslines are Australian owned and operated business.
How long will my clothesline take to arrive?
Stocked items are shipped direct from our warehouse the same or next business day.
Delivery usually takes 1–10 business days in metro East Coast areas, and 3–10 business days for regional areas and South Australia. In rare cases, delivery may take up to 10 business days.
What sheet size does the Eco Fold Down Clotheslines fit?
Eco Fold Down Clotheslines are designed so that one full sheet hangs flat along the entire length of the line. Sheet size by width:
- 1.8m — Double sheet
- 2.4m — Queen sheet
- 3.0m — King and Super King sheets
You can still hang any size sheet on any width — smaller sheets simply leave extra line space, while a larger sheet on a narrower line will bunch slightly and may take a little longer to dry.
What's the difference between a wall mount and a ground mount?
A wall mount fixes the clothesline frame directly to a solid wall — it's the standard installation for most homes.
A ground mount uses posts set into the ground, so the clothesline stands free without needing a wall.
For concrete surfaces, a base plate kit mounts the posts directly on top of the slab without any digging.
Together, these three installation options mean the Eco Fold Down Clothesline suits almost any area around your home — from narrow pathways to spots tucked away from view from your living areas. They're also a practical alternative to a rotary hoist, with the Eco 3.0m offering the same hanging space as most rotary clotheslines in a fraction of the footprint.
Can I install an Eco Fold Down Clothesline on a fence?
It's generally not recommended to mount an Eco Fold Down Clothesline on a timber or Colorbond fence, as fences may not support the weight of a full load of wet washing over time.
A ground mount kit installed next to the fence is a better option — it gives you the same placement without putting stress on the fence structure.
How high should I install my Eco Fold Down Clothesline?
The recommended installation height is to mount your fold down clothesline so the lines sit 50–100mm above the head height of the main person using it.
This keeps everything easy to reach and lets you hang clothes comfortably without straining.
What do I need to install my Eco Fold Down Clothesline?
Wall mount
A solid brick or concrete wall, the included wall fixings, a drill, a spirit level, and a tape measure.
Ground mount
Space for the posts, concrete mix to set them, or base plate fixings for installation on top of concrete. If you'd prefer not to DIY, professional clothesline installers are available to take care of it for you.
What Eco Clothesline will suit me best?
The best clothesline for you depends on your available space, how much washing you do, and where it will be installed. As a general rule, choose the largest clothesline that comfortably fits your space — not necessarily the largest clothesline in the range and remember the golden rule, measure twice, order once.
- Limited space or courtyards — a wall-mounted or ground-mounted fold down clothesline works well
- No suitable wall — a ground mount kit solves the problem
- Large households — go for the largest width your space allows
- Apartments or balconies — a compact wall-mounted option is your best fit
If you're unsure, our team is happy to help you find the right clothesline for your space and needs.
Are Eco Fold Down Clotheslines suitable for coastal, regional, and rural areas?
Yes. Eco Fold Down Clotheslines are designed to perform in a wide range of Australian environments, including coastal, suburban, regional, and rural areas. Built from durable materials and engineered for everyday outdoor use, they provide reliable drying performance in conditions ranging from humid coastal climates to hot inland regions. Regular cleaning and maintenance will help maximise the lifespan of any outdoor clothesline.
Can I reduce the width of my Eco Fold Down Clothesline?
Yes, the width can be reduced by cutting the spreader bars during assembly. Refer to the instruction manual and the installation video before doing so to ensure the modification is carried out correctly and does not void your warranty.
How much space is there between the lines on an Eco Fold Down Clothesline?
The lines are spaced 82mm apart, which promotes strong airflow and faster drying. If you prefer more space between items, simply use every second line.
Can I pick the clothesline up in my car, and will it fit?
Packaging sizes vary depending on the clothesline you choose, whether it’s wall-mounted or ground-mounted.
Wall mount clotheslines are flat-packed and the box is typically 150cm long and fits into most standard cars
The post kits for the ground-mounted clotheslines are flat-packed and 240cm long. They can fit into larger cars, and we recommend measuring your car first.
Is delivery included?
Yes. Free delivery is included. Delivery availability may vary by location.
